ETA?

Any ETA on the fix? Will there be a bugfix release of 2.3, or is this going to wait for 2.4?

This bug is a major PITA, every time I synchronize I've got to rename all the .cda files on the player to .mp3, and do a search-and-replace on all my playlists...

Thanks.

I should point out, the files really are mp3 - if I edit the extensions in the playlist and change the extensions of a few files on the iRiver, the playlist works fine...

You're not alone

This worked fine with me under 2.2 syncing with a Lyra RD2820 and RD2840. I've now upgraded to 2.3 and just got an iRiver H320, and I'm getting the problem above. I tried putting ".mp3" at the end of the filter string, but MM just tacks on a ".cda". This is a killer for syncing i...

Can the list be updated?

I'd love to see an up-to-date list of what works and what doesn't with MM's sync capabilities... I just got burned buying a Zen Xtra - I'm returning it, MM won't work for synchronization and Creative's software is useless - I was looking at the Rio Karma, but it appears it won't work either. I'll co...

OK, I'll go through step-by-step: 1. Start with an audio VCD track - Path=[X- See How We Are]\Track03.cda, Filename=Track03.cda. The HD copy of the file is in M:\M\X\See How We Are\4th of July.mp3. 2. Select the track, choose Auto-Organize, set a path of M:\M\<Artist>\<Album>\<Title><Track#>. The Au...

Sure, I understand that - I'm no audiophile, and I'm mostly listening over relatively small inexpensive computer speakers or the headphones that came with my MP3 jukebox. If I go too far and the sound quality annoys even me, I can always go back to the source CDs and reload... Anyway, for now I'm co...

By deduping, I meant removing the second entry from the playlist. I know the sync process is (I presume) smart enough not to copy the file twice, but the track will still appear twice in the playlist. When I'm trying to catch up on massive amounts of unheard music, I'd rather not waste my time heari...

mp3junkie, I don't think protecting data files is an issue - I also keep my system backups on my Lyra, and when using Sync with "Delete tracks on device..." enabled the data files always remain safe. On your initial request, I'd like to see the reverse - instead of having a way of trimming...

I hope mp3junkie doesn't mind my adding to his/her list, but this is related from my perspective: (4) Dedupe a playlist (remove any duplicate instances of a given track) I (and I'm guessing mp3junkie does something similar as well) have a few AutoPlaylists that represent different groups of tracks I...

Converting VCD tracks in-place

I'd like to convert the HD copies of tracks in Virtual CD's to a more-compressed format, without losing track of MediaMonkey's knowledge of their origin. Right now Convert Audio Format creates a copy of the tracks in a different place, and I haven't figured out a workaround within MM where I can eas...

Virtual CD priorities

I ran into this problem one attribute at a time during the 2.2 beta, and the MediaMonkey team did give me some relief on the individual reports, but I'd like to address the wider issue... When a track is in a Virtual CD, it exists in two places - on the original removable disc (which 99.9% of the ti...

I did it from a playlist containing mostly (if not all) VCD tracks - after doing major tagging, I figured I'd clean up the disk so the files were "properly" arranged.

If Auto-Organize "isn't intended" to work for VCD files, then it should skip them and warn the user...
