Sorry - problem was repeatable 5-6 times, then decided to get a Dbgview going, and problem is no longer reproducible. Will follow up if necessary.

I just did a portable installation and fired it up. The splash screen shows, then we can find an icon in the system tray which won't react to right-clicks or double-clicks.
