What is really in my mp3?

Hey Trying to get to the bottom of something here. I am still trying to come to terms with where exactly all the information in my mp3s is stored. Since over the years I have used winamp, itunes and now mediamonkey I sometimes wonder if there is tag info stored in the mp3s that mediamonkey doesnt di...

Hey hey Nice idea. Thanks for all the work you already done on creating this script steegy :) I know this topic has been inactive for a while but I had an idea on a similar way to rate songs. What about using a formula similar to this: Playcount * (Library Age^(1/2)/Dateinlibrary^(1/2)) * (1+(0.5-0....

Lol yeah, these rating are totally cooked!

25, 65, -1 etc etc!

I guess autorateacc must be causing the problem. Btw, are the rating stored in the tags, database or both?

And congrats on hitting 6000 posts! Whoot!

%^$^%$%^$@#!#&*@#& I didnt install access, thought after information systems 1 id never need it again  Enabling the rating column reveals the "correct" rating. For example, all the songs under the node 4 1/2 have a rating of 4 in the rating colum and when I click properties. :/

Thanks for the quick reply. Firstly, Im not sure how to "check the database"? Can you tell me how to do this? Here is a screenshot if it helps you, you can see the 4 1/2 stars node selected, yet this song appears to have a rating of 4 stars? http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/7608/lookgb5....

Library Ratings

Hey Yeah another post from me :P. My last one for the night then im going to sleep! I just used the autorateacc script to rate all my mp3s, and whilst it worked well, I was just wondering, is it normal for this to happen: If I browse the library using the ratings node, if I click on 4 stars, no trac...

Hey Plucked up the balls to try this out again. Working very well, im impressed with how accurately it works! None of my music had ratings before so its nice to view things using rating as opposed to play count! Also glad there is no longer an uninstaller! :P I do have one question tho, I still have...

Detecting Poor Quality

Hey After having a discussion with lowlander about quality I was wondering something. I have some albums, especially ones I ripped long ago with musicmatch jukebox where some or all of the songs "skip". It is very minor but frustrates me and I dont like having any music in my library that ...

I totally agree. In the last few months my music collection has drastically changed and I am constantly improving it. At the moment I am trying to make sure everything is at least 128kbps as that is the mimimum "quality" I want and I have several albums that are 96kbps. However, the averag...

Haha that is ridiculous. You know it would take you over 7 years just to listen to all that music once?!?! And thats assuming all you do is listen to music and sleep, so more realistically maybe 12 years to listen to it all once. I personally prefer quality over quantity. At the moment I have roughl...

Duplicate Art

Howdi Was just wondering if somebody could explain what is going on here please? I used to use itunes, and I had a yahoo widget that automatically wrote the album art to the song tag when it played. However, since I started using mediamonkey I noticed that many songs have "duplicate album art&q...

Shoutcast playlist

I just installed the shoutcast dsp plugin for winamp 2 and the shoutcast server. Everything is working great except the track history updating.

Ive seen a few posts about this but no solutions. Does anyone have one? Mediamonkey is awesome, doing so much with it!

Finding music genre

Hey all

I am trying to fill the correct genres into all my tags. Do any of you have a good site or database to recommend for finding what genre an album is? I have tried a few sites, but havnt found anything I like.
