ejsimcox, I used a nano for a bit with iTunes and MM so I think I can help. In iTunes create a playlist with your podcasts, then set up iTunes to only sync that playlist. Sync it. Quit iTunes. Now in MM, go into the options to tell MM to delete music not in your sync list BUT make sure to tell it to...

Well that was just a small detail you left out. :) You can just dual boot rockbox and the original firmware, but you've already reset your iPod. I still don't know the definite answer to the question. I would say try to synch just a few playlists and see if that works. You can easily go back to sync...

That might work. What I do on my iPod is choose specific playlists to synch. For songs that are not in a regular playlist, I use one of the MM custom fields and rename it iPod. I then put a Y into the field. I create an autoplaylist that looks for all tracks with a Y in the custom field. I then choo...

It might be that you need to specify that the playlists get synced even though you're already synching all the files that are already in those playlists. I personally don't have MM do my entire library, so I don't know.

Did you tell MM to sync your playlists? I'm not in front of my MM PC right now, btu it's in the sync options for your device. You can specify which playlists to sync. Don't know if you need to do this only if sync part of your collection, not the whole thing.

I don't have a good answer to your question, just a suggested workaround. I also use iTunes to download podcasts, but I use MM exclusively to synch. I suspect that iTunes and MM do things to the iPod to mess each other up, but I've never confirmed this. I download the podcasts with iTunes, close iTu...

YES, it's easy

First, create the single playlist you'd like to sync. Then go to Tools, Options. On the left side of the screen click on Portable/Audio devices. Select your device from the list by double-clicking it. Choose "Synchronize only the following" and from the list below, choose your desired. pla...

Could it be "interference" from iTunes?

I haven't had time to look at the sync issues in a while. I restored my nano several times and rebuilt the database from MM several times. My synching is currently working great. The one thing I've avoided lately is running iTunes while my nano was mounted in XP. (I still use iTunes to d/l podcasts....

(1) yes (2) no (afaik). iTunes uses its own music database that is separate from that of MM. (3) no, due to (2) above. But to answer your last question, yes. You can set up a playlist that tracks songs that were recently added to the database in the last x number of days. Not sure how finely you can...

I can't be sure if it will make a difference, but check this out. I've been having a problem synching my nano correctly. Not sure what the issue is, but my playcounts are not being correct copied back to my computer. I suspect the issue might be caused by running iTunes while the nano is connected t...

When you first started using MM, did you start from scractch and restore your iPod (erasing everything on it)? Or did you already have stuff on it from iTunes? I restored both my "big" iPod and my nano to start them off clean before using MM. I've had the same issue as you where the album ...

Try rebuilding the device database. That usually clears up album art problems for me. Right-click on your device in the folder tree and you'll see the option.
