I would agree with RovingCowboy: we are just coming up from the beach in terms of making Vista a reliabe platform... My basic MM database and playback functions work in Vista, but I continue to have problems with scripts and plug-ins. Running as Administrator maybe solves my problems 50 percent of t...

Auto-organizing all the tracks in the library at one time takes a long, long time. However, you can auto-organize all the tracks in a decade and then step though the decades quite quickly. I find this effectively allows me to auto-organize the entire library in just a few short minutes.

Yes, all the script does is automatically copy-and-paste the files back to their original locations, so you can do this manually. You might need to run the Windows Script Host "as administrator" to get the script to run, I'll have a play and see if I can get it working. I have verified th...

@cherryplinth - Try right clicking on the Restore.vbs file and selecting "Run as administrator". If that doesn't work, you could also try running in "XP Compatibility mode" which should be in the properties somewhere I think. As best as I can tell, the Run As Administrator and P...

Regarding the Restore Function note two messages above, I can now get the Restore Function to run by having it open in Windows Script Host. However, I now get an Access Denied message, Runtime Error No. 800A0046. Error No. 800A0046 seems to be a fairly frequently reported error in this Forum that is...

I have BackUp 4.6 installed on MM 2.5.5 under XP and the restore function works perfectly. I also have BackUp 4.6 installed on MM 3.01.1127 under Vista. The backup utility creates the correct output files, but I cannot get the restore function to run. It just wants to open in WordPad for possible ed...

I still get a read-only error saying that I cannot edit the file. There seems to be something in Vista that is preventing me from editing this script file.

Thanks, but it looks like Vista is still blocking me from editing and saving this file. If I use Notepad, it gives me the above error message whether I am working on the desktop or in Program Files/MediaMonkey3.... If I use WordPad on either the desktop or in Program Files/MediaMonkey3... I get an e...

I think Vista is trying to make it difficult to make changes in the program files directory. Notepad will let me edit the StreamsTreeNode.vbs file, but when I go to save the file (Running As Administrator) I get the following: "Cannot create the C:\Program Files\Media Monkey3\Scripts\Auto\Strea...

Any idea on how to edit the StreamsTreeNode.VBS file in Vista? I would like to edit the file so I can display some new stations on the tree, but Vista won't let me edit/save the file - even if I am Running As Administrator.

For classical music, I generally set the artist field equal to the composer. If you think about it, what you are really trying to do is structure a data base so that you can quickly find a piece of music. And if you are looking for a piece of classical music, I think the most natural way to look for...

Squeeze Box by Slim Devices is not a remote , but it gives you a nice capability to control a digital music data base from any room in the house.

You can download most of these recorders and try them out for free. I think that is what you should do. For sure, try to get a streaming recorder that records through the software. That way you are recording the digital signal as it comes off the Internet. If you get a recorder that records through ...

Three most important needs for classical music

There has been a lot of discussion in this forum on the need to enhance MM so it can better handle classical music. But there has not been much clarity in the forum on what those enhancements should be. Here is my wish list of the three most important things to do to better support classical music. ...
