Re: Sudden Surge in Track Volume
The same phenomenon occurs if I select a track from the list. A question that just occurred to me: Is this because in exclusive mode the volume setting in the application will override the system volume setting? I had the volume setting in the app at the max, and the system at 6/100, and what has be...

Sudden Surge in Track Volume
I am using v5.0.3.2627 on Windows 10. Playback is with the WASAPI output configured to exclusive mode, using the AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt (USB DAC) connected to headphones. As indicated in the topic, when playback moves from one track to the next the volume jumps from 6/100 to 100/100 (or thereab...

Re: Clipping after pause and unexpected VOLUME MAX
Just had another thought on this -- I realized I had the output plugin set to "default device." So I chose the Dragonfly specifically. Pressed play on a new track, and the volume was jacked up to 99. (I was wise this time and didn't have the phones on my ears.) I brought the volume down an...

Clipping after pause and unexpected VOLUME MAX
Rather a frustrating and painful experience using MM5 this evening for the first time in a while as I try out new headphones. I am using MM5 with WASAPI/exclusive mode output to Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt (USB DAC). I am trying to compare a couple different headphones. After pausing a track, and un...

Audio file -- skip ahead? speed up? [#17885]
Hi - I have to listen through a long audio-only file (m4a). It is playable on MM. Is there any way to configure the player so that I can skip ahead 10 seconds, or back 10 seconds, using keystrokes (like arrows)? Any way to speed up the playback to 1.5x or 2x? Thanks so much,
SB

Re: "Error moving file" / "Problem copying file"
Thanks again for the reply. I realized the easiest way to deal with this is with FreeFileSync -- a great program, in case anybody else is looking for good sync software to help back up the library. Anyway, FFS will allow the files to be moved and for whatever reason it is able to work around the Win...

Re: "Error moving file" / "Problem copying file"
Good point, thanks. I'm at the moment working with a very small component of my library, so there won't be an issue with unique names. (With the whole library, yes there would be -- it has over 250,000 tracks!) I was really just trying to isolate this issue. For whatever reason, it's not the file le...

Re: "Error moving file" / "Problem copying file"
The length is the issue. I manually shortened a couple file names and then was able to get them to move. Unfortunately identifying the problem does not reveal an easy solution. There are way too many of these files to shorten each of them. Why is it that MM can't move a file after it already has sca...

Re: "Error moving file" / "Problem copying file"
I just realized those weird alphanumeric strings at the end of many of the file names is a red herring -- they are not the issue as some of the files will move. I suspect it is length. Is there an alternative program or mechanism that will trim file-name length in a batch process? Thanks again

Re: "Error moving file" / "Problem copying file"
Hi, thanks -- build is 5.0.1.2433. Yes, the files do play. I can also move them from one location to another in Windows Explorer (through drop and drag). But even from the new location they can be moved or copied with Ctrl+R.

"Error moving file" / "Problem copying file"
I have what is for me an inexplicable issue using Auto-organize (Ctrl+R). When trying to move certain files, I am getting an error message; when trying instead to copy them to a new location, I am getting the "problem" message. I have tried shortening the path -- this did not work. My only...

Re: skipping end of song. crossfade off, remove silence off
Hi -- I'm experiencing this issue intermittently as well. Should I go ahead and try the 5.0.2 beta, or just wait for its official release? (I don't mind waiting; I usually hang back on updates anyhow.) And if I did download, what's the difference between debug and regular beta versions? I just set u...
