Re: Excessive BPM Tagging [#20949]

Hi LowLander, your Mantis report doesn't seem to cover the whole of this issue. MM5 manual adjustments to BPM store the assigned value to the music track with mandatory decimal places. The BPM tag in the MM5 database is an integer value, ie. decimal places impossible. The track that Dryst uploaded s...

Re: MMW5 2024.0.0.3021 Refuses To Unlock Files

Thanks for posting, but I posted many complaint about poor TAG updates with zero responses from anyone....ever. This tells me that you all love this behavior and I am the only one who thinks it is wacky, insane, and off the wall. Take a look at this post that was 100% ignored: I don't know why they...

Re: MMW5 2024.0.0.3021 Refuses To Unlock Files

You don't want to use MM to make these rating updates? IE. instead of using an external application. Presumably MM owns the lock, and therefore will be able to make the update. The advantage of using MM5 for the update is that both the track tag, and the MM database will be updated, and remain in sy...

Re: remove played track

You could have an AutoPlaylist select files that had "last played" before "today's date" and then play from that playlist. As soon as a song was played it would fail that criteria and removed from the playlist, but I'm not aware of a way to automatically update "today's dat...

Re: Add one file to Library

Folders in the Folders node have add/rescan, files need to be Drag & Dropped onto a root Collection node (like Music or Entire Library) in the Media Tree . That is inadequate IMO. non-discoverable: Who knew? How did they know? .. drag & drop from Folders node is not covered in online help ....

Re: Separate play counts

An alternate suggestion would be to freeze the tracks' playcount to one of the Custom columns (eg. custom9). After the holiday you could calculate and store the playcount change into another custom column. You could do both operations using the SQL Editor MM5 addon. You would need to know sql syntax...

Re: Add one file to Library

D&D on a Collection root node in the Media Tree[/url] (not in Options) should also work to add the dropped file(s) to the MediaMonkey Library. What does the bolded section mean? I don't understand. As a related comment I think it would be good if tracks in the Folders node grew a "Add/Resc...

I don't use or sync back ratings, so I am not personally bothered about the issue.
But is fair to say that I am bothered that you apparently got zero assistance with the issue after you had put so much work into describing the problem.

Please see: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/knowledge-base/mediamonkey-install-config/mediamonkey-database-or-settings-are-lost/ From your link (highlight emphasis is mine): MediaMonkey stores its settings (assuming it’s not run in ‘Portable Mode’) in the Windows registry and the database along...

Re: Tag Update Failed: [filename}.flac is inaccessible

Yes it sounds as if MM can read your tracks, but does does not have permission to update them. all tracks that you have scanned into MM are indexed by your MM database that database stores info about each track, physical info like file name and track duration, and also the track's metadata, eg album...

Re: recent issues with the "Artwork:lookup" function/link in MM5 ? [#20666]

Please clarify. Isn't MM5 the same as MMW 2024? If not, what is MMW 2024? That is a very good question. Long <rant> answer: From oblique throwaway comments made here I am guessing that they are changing their licensing model from purchase of an enduring license, to an annual subscription ... or som...

Re: recent issues with the "Artwork:lookup" function/link in MM5 ? [#20666]

From this it seems that there is a fix for anyone running MM5, but still waiting a fix for anyone already running MMW 2024.
I haven't tried either of those things yet.

Re: recent issues with the "Artwork:lookup" function/link in MM5 ? [#20666]

However, I was getting an error via a thrown exception. So I would think that 4a would be appropriate 4a presupposes that MM was able to submit a full diagnostics package to the MM exception server, in which case MM would have popped up the ID of the info diagnostic package which was sent. ... Or y...

Re: MediaMonkey Library could not start: port 61198 is already in use

I start MM, making sure there is no MM instances running already. Checking Task Manager also. When checking in Task manager, are you checking Background Processes as well as Apps. I see this port lock often after MM has ended abnormally. It is always one of the Background processes that is holding ...
