I think this is an add-on feature. As long as the hooks are there to do it, I would not spend time on this feature. I believe the core features are much more important.

I have the music on my laptop and transmit to my receiver through an AudioEngine W1. That way I can take my laptop anywhere in the house, or even outside (I have a Zone 2 on my receiver that goes to speakers outside), works great.

If I'm correct, you have two drives with exactly the same files on them?
If that's so, just go to Add/Re-scan files, uncheck the E: drive and check the G: drive. when you rip music, just change the drive letter.
