You can select any item you wish to Sync. You can select only Playlists as this will Sync the Playlists and the media files on them.

In MMA2 you can scan the QR code to setup.

Do make sure that the client isn't disabled in MMW.

Do the individual files on that Playlist still play?

Tags should be in the files already (by default), so the problem would be why those other apps remove them on tag changes.

That option needs to be disabled if the edited/replaced files don't have a date modified (timestamp) newer than the old files. Otherwise MediaMonkey will ignore the files on rescan.

Check your scan settings that they're set to update file info on rescan and that the date modified is newer for the files replacing old files.

Use <Playlist> in Sync or Auto-Organize (Files).
