Re: Files in Goodsync temp folder show as second entries for the same song

Thanks for that idea. In Windows I changed the view to show hidden folders and then closed MM5 then opened it again and tried to do this but the _gsdata_ folder does not show in the tree under D:\Music in the Add/Rescan dialogue. I might try restarting the pc while "show hidden folders" is...

Files in Goodsync temp folder show as second entries for the same song

I use Goodsync to mirror my whole music collection between my laptop and media pc. Goodsync creates a folder called _gsdata_ in both locations, (which is usually a hidden folder), in which it keeps a copy of changes made in case of wanting to undo changes. Previous versions of Mediamonkey had the ab...

Re: Does MM recognise flac to be different files from same files in mp3?

Well I've done the experiment and yes it does. MM5 removes the mp3 files and then syncs the flac files of the exact same name after removing the auto conversion rule and clicking delete unselected library files.

Does MM recognise flac to be different files from same files in mp3?

I synced my 200GB micro card, (for Fiio X3 gen 2), Using auto convert for anything above 320 to convert to mp3 @ 320kbps. All my music on my laptop is flac. I now realise that there is plenty of space on the card to leave it all in flac. If I remove that auto convert rule and check the box for "...

One album that refuses to show under Album Artist node

Windows 10, MM 4.1.28.1905, fully licensed gold version. I have 2 albums by an artist Marion Raven; "Here I Am" and "Set Me Free". "Here I am" simply will not show up under the Album Artist node in the media tree, ("Set Me Free" does show). It is there under M...

Re: MM Gold problems

I also have used MM gold for many years and had to reinstall on new machines or OS upgrades and I've never had an issue activating gold. All I can suggest is to copy and paste the code from your email. If you don't have that any more and you've written it down then you must be sure that every single...

2 Library locations for 2 users?

My wife and I have very different music tastes. I have over 500GB in my music collection on an external HDD with that particular folder selected as the library monitor folder. In a separate folder is all my wife's music and it's all crap that I never want to hear. Conversely she doesn't want to hear...

Re: How to delete old pathnames from the ripcd dialogue box destination bar

Thank you Lowlander. It took a bit of figuring out where in that document to edit and what to do but I managed it.
After making a backup copy of the file, I found the ripmasks section and deleted the lines I no longer require, renumbered the remaining ones and it seems to have done the trick.

How to delete old pathnames from the ripcd dialogue box destination bar

Occasionally during ripping cd's I have to manually enter some info to the path such as correct spelling of artist or album. I do this manually in the destination bar {C:\Users\andre\Music\<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Track#:2> - <Artist> - <Title>} But now I have a list of these that will never be requi...

Re: Now playing album art issues

Probably a combination. Music ripped from cd's will have a scanned image in the album folder that I then apply to all tracks in that album. Some downloaded stuff probably gets images automatically. Not sure about being embedded, in Options, Library, Artwork it says "save image to tag (if possib...

Re: CD Databases

This is also a bugbear for me. Therefore I usually use Windows Media Player to rip my discs cos it rarely has trouble finding the correct info while MM rarely does find the correct info.

Re: Auto-Start when Connecting via Bluetooth

Maybe you could try switching the car head unit to FM radio or another input before turning the engine off so that when you next start it, it doesn't automatically hunt for the last bluetooth connected device and make it do what it was doing last. Doesn't really answer your question but it's a "...
