Well, there is a way to save a text file as UTF-8 under vbscript but it requires you to use streams and not fso.CreateTextFile... Here is an example code copied from here Private Sub CreateFile(ByVal pstrFile As String, ByVal pstrData As String) Dim objStream As Object 'Create the stream Set objStre...

No need to do that with timers...
There is an event OnPlay that informs you when a playback has started. Is easy to hook on that event and check whether the song has changed also...

There are a lot of scripts out there that use that event so do a search and you will find more info

If MS disables Autorun in Vista, which I believe they are doing, it'll pretty much be the end of viruses spread by removable media. And it only took them 20 years to do it! It also took Apple 20 years to do it... The autorun behaviour was removed recently from OS-X after an autorun virus spread hav...

@ sunspot You may be right about the autorun behaviour being annoying for a lot of users (i also have disable it). But dont bet on that social exploit stuff. It wasnt long ago that all viruses were propagating via floppies and CD's since very few people had internet. The main reason viruses are spre...

Such an option would only add one more irritating window... Most ppl would answer yes without even looking at what the dialog says. Take a look at virus statistics maintained by any of the known companies (F-Secure, McAfee, Symantec, Avast etc). The virus causing the most infections are all propagat...

Thanks, but I really don't want to be running a collection of security holes like IIS just in order to stream music remotely. I am running several win2003 servers with latest IIS (with many extensions enabled). Never had any problems nor holes. I just make sure to keep my babes updated and properly...

BTW: To enhance my c#.net coding, and to facilitate scripts.ini handling a bit, I made my own MM Scripts Manager some time ago. I made it for my own, and is just a GUI for the Autoscripts and the Scripts.ini file and scripts. It is for "more advanced" users. TSSSS, i cant believe you have...

I welcome you to the MM community as well...
As a biologist (too) I must admit that I agree with you.
But as Lownader said... this has been discussed before with no results
