From your description I suppose that you use version 1.0, because the implementation of freedb access had several bugs in this version. You can try version 1.1 alpha, which has corrected freedb support (for both protocols), or if you are afraid of alpha versions, then please wait for beta or release...

ad B: Ok, now I understand. There is a problem in removing unused artists - these who don't have a song assigned but have an album (like 'Various' artist) are removed while they should not be. It will be corrected in the next release. ad C: Please check if the song really has ID3v2 tag. If yes then ...

Answers

ad A: No, it is not problem of BDE, because Songs-DB uses ODBC to access database (there are well known problems with BDE, so I prefer ODBC). ad B: Do you mean, that when you join songs into an album and enter 'Various' as an artist name, you don't see this new album in the 'Albums' node? I tried it...

Thank you for the report, ad 1-2. That is quite strange. I will review the code that fills data in the list. ad 3. Your are right, that actually isn't a bug. Problem is that Songs-DB can't decide if it is actually the same album or something completely different. It can't join all songs with the sam...

That is a good idea, I will add it to my to-do list. However, if you want to scan a CD, it is easier (in my opinion) to select that CD in the tree ("Computer\E:" for example) and select "Scan path" in the main (or pop-up) menu.[/quote]

Currently it is not possible to add a genre in Songs-DB. However if you need it right now and can work with MS Access databases, then you can open table "Genres" in "data\SongsDB.mdb", add your own genre (please use id number in the range 10000-20000) and restart Songs-DB. If you...

Yes, it is a good idea to specify a file extensions for scanning. Scan of selected directories could be added too. That deleting of more than 10 entries is not a bug - in that case entries are deleted on the background and you can work meanwhile, but the songlist is not updated in the end automatica...

Songs-DB will include an internal player in the newest version (in few weeks), so I believe that in combination with WinAmp it could be enough - it will be possible to choose between these two. Other players could be added if you (users) wish, but no player today (except for WinAmp) can be well cont...

Some users reported problems with download speed of Songs-DB server. There was added a new link to the download page that should solve the problem. Also in few days links to other servers will follow.
