Moving Music from network drive to laptop hdd

I've the plugin working against MM4.0.0.1442, iTunes 10.5.0.142, win7 64bit. One question, why does it need to 'convert' each and every file and put it in a MM___ folder ? Can't you just link to the original files ? I know for FLAC, none-MP3 etc that conversion would be needed, but it seems a waste...

Is it possible to sync the library without copying all the music?

I have over 100gb on a nas drive, and when I sync, each song from MM to iTunes starts to get copied to "MMiTunesCache" folder in My Documents.

Anyone managed to resolve this, guys?

Sync is easy. I just sync'd the same way as I did with my iphone and it worked. do you have a specific problem? Does mm detect your phone?

ok...The music rating issue is resolved (well...kind of!) The music ratings in MM are saved on the file itself, and I have found a player that can read those.

ok...a lot of googling and reading....I found a solution....I think! It seems that the ratings are specific to the music player. However, if you use mediamonkey they are saved to the music file. Solution PlayerPro on android market has an option to select the music file rating as opposed to its own....
