How to re-open new playlist column for drag/drop

Hi, When a new playlist is created, for example using the 'new playlist' button (at right top of browser window when browsing playlists), an empty column for the new playlist is opened in the main browser window allowing for easy drag/drop of songs onto the playlist. This is very useful. But once th...

Listening preview using waveforms [#16236]

Hi, I'm using Rekordbox (RB) for DJing and use MM5 for library management and selection of tracks and creating playlists. This requires previewing large numbers of tracks, skipping through each track listening several seconds here and there to determine whether the tracks suits the playlist I'm crea...

Re: 2201 - Location subfolder send to/move only copies tracks, not subfolder

You know, I have 20 years of IT under my belt, from assembler programming to systems architect to running development projects for large government agencies and multinationals. So I am very aware of the difference between bugs and features. I have described a very clear scenario and asked what the b...

Re: 2201 - Location subfolder send to/move only copies tracks, not subfolder

Sorry Barry, but I've heard enough of your opinion and suggestions. In several areas MM5 has deliberately different functionality from MM4. Could you please allow somebody from MediaMonkey to reply??

Location subfolder send to/move only copies tracks, not subfolder [#16053]

I select a subfolder with some tracks in a Location directory and want to move the subfolder + tracks to another folder. So right click -> send to -> folder (move) -> select 'new folder' and this should create .\new folder\subfolder\track1, ...2, ...3, etc. What happens now is that all tracks are mo...

[SOLVED] Genre subnodes only for categories, genre subnodes for tracks absent

Hi, MM5 shows a Genre node for a collection. The Genre node has subnodes which in MM4 would show a subnode for every genre found for one or more tracks in the Collection. In MM5 the Genre subnodes only list the Genre categories, like Jazz, Dance, Classical, not the genres used in the tracks in the C...

Re: MM4 Google search arrows in artist/title columns missing

Thanks for your reply and suggestions Barry, the functionality I'm talking about is being discussed here - http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61717 Is this functionality indeed not implemented in MM5? If not, is there any similar, one-click functionality available achieving the same re...

MM4 Google search arrows in artist/title columns missing

Hi, If I remember correctly, MM4 would show small up-arrows when hovering over a track artist or title column in a list view. Upon clicking on the arrow MM4 would open an external browser (Chrome in my case) and search for the artist/title. I used this function a lot in MM4 to quickly search for son...

Re: Can't easily add new folder/directory (change from MM4)

Thanks. What you're suggesting (MM5 > Folders > Import > Diana Ross and press insert) works indeed. However, it does requires me to navigate to the MM5 Folders node and browse several levels deep to locate the folder and insert while I already have the ' Import' folder ' open' in my music Collection...

Can't easily add new folder/directory (change from MM4)

Hi, I have a directory on my NAS called 'Import' where I download music files in directories named after the artist, so the 'Import' directory has many subfolders. My workflow is to create a new subfolder (eg Diana Ross), download a bunch of music files and do some tagging, cleaning up, remove dupli...

Composer Tag/Node inconsistencies

Hi, I have a collection based on some criteria and have ' Composer' enabled as a node. If I select the collection, the browser screen shows >22.000 files with empty 'composer' tags. I know this by sorting asc/desc on the Composer column. The Composer node however shows many subnodes each of which po...
