Hi,
I installed MM for Windows beta 1681, and requested that the service be installed. The service was not automatically started, so I started it manually from the Services window. However, I was not able to use uPnP to access the MM library on my PC from remote clients, unless the MM app was actually running on my PC. I had assumed that, as with Windows Media Player, the app would not need to be running to provide uPnP server support, as long as the service was running.
Is this a correct assumption? If not, what is the purpose of the MM service?
Thanks,
Dennis
