I never use the visualizations, or at least I haven't for a very long time. I looked at MilkDrop. The settings for it in the options setting didn't seem to have anything related to this oscillation you speak of. This is an old Winamp plugin. I tried the links in the configuration settings for the plugin and they are no longer valid since they direct to Winamp. There is a forum dedicated to this plugin at the Wimamp forum -

The other thing regarding visualizations is they tend to be resource intensive and there may be a some adjustments to your computer that might need to be made. If you give the specs on your computer set up, that might help someone help you as well.
