Thanks, now it's more clear why connection hangs with MTP and why this explorer tricks solve it most of the times.
And I'm aware some Sony are not fully supported. Or at least known to have issues on usb transfer.
Now I'll go to uninstall that ugly Sony Companion :P

Hi,
There is nothing Wring with Windows and MMW, but with MTP Protocol+Driver itself and Explorer that when MMW starts to push number of files fast it crashes.

You could do the Same by Selecting 2K of tracks in Explorer and paste it onto device while browsing to see what else is written on device.

That is why we suggest WiFi Sync as in that case all is dependent on Apps no Windows driver involved.

This kind of "bug" (unable to connect with the device) also happened with Xperia SP, but less frequently.

After the connection, the only way to have a reliable connection between Mediamonkey and the mobile is to kill and relaunch explorer with taskkill before start syncing.

Code: Select all

taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
explorer.exe
Then MTP works correctly.

Already followed the guides, installed Sony Companion (which is pretty useless) and specific OEM sony driver. Still happen.
This workaround seem to solve the issue.
Wondering what's wrong between windows 10 1803 explorer (untargeted branch) and mtp connection with mediamonkey.
Also had in past with win7, but was way less frequent.
