You can, Portable Installs would be recommended, and they can share the same database (best if you don't run both at the same time).

Tools > Options > Output Plugins allows you to configure to set specific output device.

Windows 10 sound routing issue - Can I install two instances of MM?

Not long ago Windows 10 bought in the ability to send specified apps to different sound outputs (settings>system>sound>app volume device settings).

I game so I have my gaming headset as my games sound output there, and I have MM outputting to the headset too.

However I would like to also use MM on the desktop but I cannot without having to change over the sound output each time, or just not use MM on the desktop and use another player for listening over my speakers.

One technical solution however would be to install 2 instances of MM, one set to output to game headset, the other set to output to normal speakers. Before I struggle does anyone know if this is going to work or will there be conflicts? Will 2 instals of MM (in different folders ofc) behave together?
