I am having this same problem! And all 5 of those options are NOT ticked. Within MMW all my artwork is saved to the tags anyway.

It goes through and syncs all 3000 artwork tags, then appears to be syncing the playlists and just hangs.
In actual fact all playlists have been deleted and won't sync at all.

When I repeat the process it syncs all 3000 artwork tags again.

Now to be precise is it in the following panel Device configuration/Options/tagger ?

I can see there 5 selections
1/ Sync art works in the folder
2/ copy art works in files tag
3/ remove tags based on size
4/ use tag based on music type
5/ use the first tag in case of compilation

Is it based on a combination of all these tweaks or one is more important ?

Files can contain multiple artworks, with tweaking device sync profile you can control how it will be synced.

Every time I start a sync between MM and a USB Mass storage disk for my car, it's syncing a massive number of ARTwork files ?
I don't really understand why as I didn't change them ?

Any idea or any directions I should look into ?
