I have the same experience as kp1:
Sometimes it takes really long to search for a lyric and I also would like to see a button to cancel the search.

I don't want to disable it. I just want to be able to click the close button while it's running. For instance, when I'm looking up lyrics for all songs on an album, one of them is being extremely slow and I look at the song title to see that it's an instrumental track, but I still have to wait for the search to finish before I can do anything else in the program.

I'm using version 4.1.23.1881

Also, my library is on an external hard drive.

Tools > Options > Metadata Lookup to disable.

Which version of MediaMonkey are you using? It doesn't freeze for me.

Currently, the whole program will freeze, sometimes for up to 30 seconds, while it's searching for lyrics for lesser known songs.
