I repurchased the codec pack and now have no issues playing m4b or m4a files.

I just wish media monkey had informed me that the codec would be uninstalled and it would not accept the old version to be upgraded

Hi,
Unfortunately problem with M4B is described in https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15038 and it is problem in Windows native decoder not MMW.

Check Tools > Extensions in MediaMonkey to see what you have installed. You can contact Support with your Order Number for a new download.

Media Monkey Codec Pack [#15038]

by hroberts89436 » Sat Aug 18, 2018 12:50 pm

I have the gold version of Media Monkey, and I purchased the codec pack 2.1.2.105 way back on 2/2/2015.

I tried to listen to one of my m4b files today and was told I needed to purchase the codec. I tried to install the above codec, however the system would not take it. Do I need to purchase the latest codec? If so How often will I need to purchase the latest codec to ensure I can open these types of files?
