The webhelp for DLNA states:
Code: Select all
Be aware of the following issues when enabling external access:
You'll need to configure the DLNA client to connect to http://<Network IP address>:<Port#>/DeviceDescription.xml
So it won't work with domian names only IP? What do I use for DeviceDescription.xml? I am trying to connect to my homeserver from my iphone across the WWW. I am using Airplayer and the only things I can specify when adding a DLNA server are address, username and password. I have tried
http://xxx.homeserver.com:8083/iServer.xml but that doesn't work. IServer is what I named the DLNA instance I am trying to connect to. Locally it is fine, Airplayer sees it on its own.
