Yes, the [i]Spotify-Indie[/i] skin works on both MM3 and MM4. (Though I prefer the [i]4-delletronic eee[/i] on MM4, so I know what program version I use)

The player of this skin is long and slim, but not as slim as the original used in Spotify. If you want it to look like mine, you will have to unzip the skin file (.msz) to a new folder within [i]Mediamonkey/Skins[/i] and then rename the microplayer in this folder to [i]player.mskin[/i]. Then open MM, select your "new" skin and drag the player to where you want it. But remember that this small player is NOT resizeable.

If you use he [i]MonkeyRok[/i] script, an alternative to use the player of this panel and hide the original MM-player. (But the MR-skin of [i]Spotify-Indie[/i] is not usable, since there are no gliders in that player)

Can I simply download that skin to get it to work? Does it work on both MM3 and MM4? I haven't been playing with 4 much as I don't want to risk issues syncing to my ipod, etc.

In my opinion, the microplayer of the Spotify skinis an example of a good small player. (Though it does not have to be THAT slim!)

But you are probably right that most new users don't know how to use these players right... So the very slim player at the bottom is probablly best for a default player. And your Noir eee is definitely one of my favourite MM3-skins!

well, left panel / tree is also resizable and it's not easy to create a good looking / working small player,
and i think most new users don't know how to use them right, and i think small players don't really save space on small screens!

I run also a 15" and 10" laptop and prefer very slim players at the bottom like the eee player versions i make .

In my opinion, the place consuming player is the main disadvantage of MM3. Very few skins have players that can be placed under the left panel.

I have solved the problem by customizing my favourite skins ([i]spotify-indie [/i]and other dark skins), replacing the standard player with the microplayer which I place under the left panel in the main window. This is a rather simple process which involves unzipping the skin file [i](.msz)[/i] and renaming the microplayer to [i]player.mskin[/i].

All the skins of the MM4-alpha occupy the width of the main window. [i]Glided[/i] is far too big and really needs a redesign if it is still to be included in the standard download. [i]4-delletronic eee [/i] (black and green)and [i]Vitreous[/i] (white) players are much lower and less space-consuming. Nice! (A LOW player "band" at the bottom is the alternative to a left panel only player)

Hopefully, many of the very good MM-skinners will remember the laptop users with small screens in their future desgins.

PS I am impressed that MM4 Alpha already seems to work perfectly side by side with MM3!

Yes. In tools > options > skin, try the Pulse skin.

I like the layout of MM4, but not the color of the skin. Are there other skin options? Also, is there a summary someplace of the new functionality or what I should try out / help test?
