mediamonkey has its own spectrum visual.

monkey's visuals are part of the player and are volume meters that work off an rythum that moves the visual to the highest
volume image made to show. if the skin creator put in 23 images which is the limit on small images for monkey's vu meter images. or 17 which is the limit i found for the huge images but they have to be very low dpi if you make huge images.

the vu will show the one image for that high note but it does it so fast it looks like it is coded in and not just code changing images.

so this type of visual in this post is only possible by third party plugins such as milkdrop or others like it.
might be possible if a script could be made for only mediamonkeys use that will make this visual? but i don't think a script
can be made like this.

Still would very much love to see this. Must admit, been popping open foobar lately just to watch the visualizations of my favorite tracks, this and the waveform scrollbar just give such a great visual of your fav. tracks. Usually though just when I'm getting ready to go to sleep though, it really makes your eyes tired! Would be awesome if it were on MM, since it's the best Media Player out there!

I would also love to see a spectrogram visualizer.

It should be relatively simple to write, granted I'm not a coder of these things.

To put it simply, it's a graph that scrolls from right to left.
The horizontal axis therefore is 'time'.
The vertical axis is frequency.
And the intensity or color of the point is the intensity of that frequency at that point in time.
It's basically a spectrum analyzer that scrolls horizontally.

it's not so much of a cool eye-candy as a real audio processing graph.

I'm just dying to run my aphex twin track through it to see his face... (what a joker he is)

as mentioned, its difficult to see or explain how it works on a static image.. best to see it in action (ie install foobar, its free, and play a song).

here is what wiki says about spectrograms, with some more images

so does the lines go up and down as separate lines or do they fuzzy together while the song is playing then slowly thin out towards the end and lower in height at that time too.?

this looks very familiar? it seems like an real audio style of av plugin. that code is copyrighted, but if we can tell what the image really does we can fake it with images. but it won't flow from side to side.

The visualizer along the bottom, it flows from the right side to the left as the songs play.

It's best seen in action, I think it would go well for the longer player windows that have alot of empty space.

yep show us the images we all can see them and make them to work on the visuals for the volume meter. just have to know what they look like.

morten might beable to code it the same way but i have to do images. :D

The latest versions of foobar have a pretty cool spectrum visualizer.. I know several mm3 have the frequency analyzer, but I would love to see an option for a foobar style visualizer..

Is that possible via the skin like the current analyzers?
