I am using an iPhone 6+ running iOS 8. I am running MediaMonkey 4.1.6.1733.
I have a MediaMonkey playlist with about 25 tracks. I connect the iPhone and MM detects it. I configure MM to autosync my playlist and click the button.
MM appears to perform a sync - it shows me which files it is copying and does not display any errors. The sync progress bar sits for several seconds on the first track. After that, it moves steadily through the rest of the tracks. The tracks are of different sizes, so it seems odd that each one should take the same amount of time to copy.
When it is finished, MM shows the correct set of files in the playlist on the iPhone. The iPhone Music app shows the right number of files. Everything looks good.
When I open the playlist on the iPhone, most of the files that were just "synced" appear gray and with a red square in a red circle. They will not play, and don't appear to be actually on the phone. 1 or 2 files may actually be copied, but the rest are really not there.
If I disconnect and reconnect, the iPhone changes the count of files in the playlist - it removes the files that are not really there. I can perform the sync again. I might get 1 more track to copy, but that is not consistent.
I know this was working when I had a phone running iOS 6. It stopped being reliable when I upgraded to iOS 7, and the change to iOS 8 has not corrected the problem. I have been trying the newest beta versions in the hope that they would include a fix.
Is there something I can do to troubleshoot or correct this? I prefer MM to iTunes, but this is frustrating.
