Hi,
If you have QNAP please try to upgrade there was some reports on false positives.

That's interesting. My NAS also uses ClamAV and it has quarantined the last two or three versions of the codec pack.

Hi,
That means it is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heuristic_analysis to blame for false positive. I have ClamAV on NAS testing all the files and none MMIP are reported.

THX for update.

Google probably uses the ClamAV engine for virus detection, which seems to be the only engine to identify the codec pack as a virus:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/56b7c ... /detection

I tried unzipping the codec pack and checking each individual file through VirusTotal and none were detected as a virus so it's only the mmip container that is being detected.

I have sumbitted a false positive report to ClamAV which will hopefully help.

Not that we know of, have you tried to report false positive or get more info on the matter. I tried to do same and there was no Virus reports when I saved it on Google drive.

Codec Pack Virus?

I just purchased the MM codec pack. I saved the mmip file to Google Drive and did a download from Drive, which reports that the mmip file is infected with a virus (no other info). I saved to local drive anyway and then did a scan of it using Kaspersky which did not detect a virus.

Does anyone have a similar experience? Is Google's detection of some mysterious virus a concern?
