Milkdrop2 Installl

by GMGJ » Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:59 am

I had some trouble getting Milkdrop2 to work.

I hope this makes it into the documentation.
Install Milkdrop 2 like this

Winamp plugins needs to be installed as Administrator not as User.

Go to Tools -> Extensions -> ADD
Locate Milkdrop2 plugin installation download
Disable Per User Plugin installation
restart MMW

I got some very strange and misleading error messages. After a few tries, I got a link to download prior versions of Directx.

this works as well

Example error message - Error Compiling ps_2_0 warp shader

I cannot get Milkdrop 2 to run with my GEFORCE GT 730 card (circa 2014, passes all the direct x diagnostic tests. I get "shader model 3.0 not supported by driver".
I am running mildrop 1. I am going to thank mstrange on github and let hime know about the Milkdrop2 issue

I am trying to run Milkdrop 2 on win 10 home machine with a Nvidia GeForce GT 730. I have updated the drivers to the 378.92 latest release for this combo. It get
Your hardware says that it supports shader model 3.0[PSVersion=0x300], but it does not seem to do it properly- or maybe your display driver is just buggy. WTF?

Milkdrop save Sequential order of preset

I can hit f1 and hit R to toggle presets to play in sequential order, however, this preference is not saved. Is there a way to save the option "play sequential"? Will the monkey remember from whence it ended the last time and start there on the next invocation? :) Thanks
