adding the comment at the file then rescan imports the comment into MM, although the Actors disappeared from mm in doing so. something odd is going on with this area of syncing.

No I didn't, that makes sense I'll retest that. Any idea on the original issue of not syncing to the file in the first place. I can't find any TS on the size of comments effecting the transfer to the file comment tag.

After you edited the Comment outside of MediaMonkey, did you rescan the file into MediaMonkey? If not MediaMonkey likely didn't show the Comment and thus saved the empty value when you edited any other tag.

I am tagging MP4's and after working on this for a few hours It looks as though if the summary description pasted in the Comment is too long it won't sync.
I have pasted the same comment in MM and it did not sync, then manually pasted the same comment on the file then save, then go back to MM and say update the year MM removes the comment from the file although it still remains in MM.

Not all file types have tag support in MediaMonkey: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... erties/4.0

Comment tag doesn't sync to files

by evanhorn » Sun Sep 10, 2017 1:23 pm

Hello, I'm adding episode summaries to the properties of video files in the comment tag in mediamonkey and the text is not always syncing to the actual file. Any ideas? I have granted full control to the files on the external drive the files are stored on to every account for the ext files.
